My Story

Hi there!

My name is Sam Rothrock. I am the owner and operator of 2 Bar A Equine located in Gardnerville, NV where I live with my fiancé Kalene. At 2 Bar A Equine we provide colt starting and horse training as well as handmade quality leather saddles and gear. On this page, along with my social media accounts, you will see leather pieces for sale, saddles currently available, and horses offered to the public. All leather gear is 100% handmade here in my shop; no sewing machine, nothing but hand tools. 

My interest and skill of working leather came from my years of experience cowboying. A young man on cowboy wages sure doesn't have time to save his money to buy nice gear, so I started to learn how to make certain pieces of tack on my own. When something would break, instead of finding someone to fix my saddle, I learned how to fix it myself. Soon, those little projects turned into something of a product and one with quality. 

Several years down the road, in 2024, I have decided that it is time to take my leather craft hobby and to turn in into a way to support myself and my family. I strive to make each project better than the next so that every customer is getting the highest quality piece I have ever made.
